Are you interested in hosting an exchange student?

A host family can be an individual or couple, retired or working, with or without children that are willing to open their home to one or two Spanish students for a couple of weeks.
Exchange students are between the ages of 12 - 18 years old.
-
Host families are expected to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere to exchange students.
Host families should provide a bed and full board (breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner).
Host families are not expected to pay anything for their exchange students and will receive a subsidy to cover the costs of food, bills etc.
Exchange students attend English classes in the morning, followed by an activity in the afternoon so we expect host families to spend some time with them in the evening.
Exchange students are advised that they are not staying in a hotel and that families are opening their homes to them. Therefore, they are expected to clean up after themselves and help out when needed.

We are looking for host families in the Belfast and greater Belfast area.

We require host families for a minimum of two weeks, mainly during the summer months.

Our idea is that the best way to get to know a city / country is to get to know the locals. Staying with host families is not only the best way to learn the language, but also learn about the people and culture.
Whilst financial gain isn’t the primary aspect of hosting, host families will receive a subsidy of £400 per student for the two week stay.
As a host family, you will also benefit from the experience as it’s a chance for you to learn a little bit about Spanish culture. Furthermore, if you have children / teenagers of your own, it’s a great opportunity for them to make a Spanish friend!
